Privacy Policy

PlayOneVideo is an app that helps parents let their children calmly watch one video. We handle your data carefully. This policy explains what data we process, why, and which rights you have.

1. Who are we?

PlayOneVideo is an initiative of Good Ventures SAGL, Via Chioso 25, 6983 Magliaso, Switzerland (company no. CHE-453.811.708). Questions about your privacy? Email us at christiaanhenny@gmail.com. We are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO).

2. Which data do we process?

We process as little data as possible. Specifically:

• Video preferences and folders. The videos you add to your lists are stored locally on your device. When you pair with your partner's phone, these lists are synchronised anonymously via a secure server. No name, email address or account is attached.
• Pairing code. When pairing two devices, a temporary, anonymous pairing code is created that automatically expires after 10 minutes. No personal data is stored.
• YouTube videos. The app uses the YouTube API to search and play videos. Your search queries are processed by Google (YouTube). The YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy apply.
• Purchases. Subscriptions and in-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive any payment data. See the Apple Privacy Policy.
• Subscription management. We use RevenueCat to process subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user ID and purchase data from Apple. No personal data is shared. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

We do not collect any name, email address, phone number, location, device identifier or other personal data.

3. Children's data

PlayOneVideo is an app for parents, not for children. We deliberately do not collect data from children. No child names are stored on our servers. Profile names you create stay locally on your device only.

Because the app is operated by parents and we do not collect any data from children, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) does not apply. Nevertheless, we treat the privacy of minors with the utmost care.

4. Why do we process this data?

The legal basis for processing is performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR):

• Synchronisation between devices (pairing with a partner): necessary to provide the service.
• YouTube API: necessary for searching and playing videos, the app's core function.
• Subscription management via RevenueCat: necessary for processing and verifying your subscription status.

5. How long do we keep data?

Synchronised lists are kept as long as you keep the pairing active. You can delete your data at any time through the app or by contacting christiaanhenny@gmail.com. Temporary pairing codes are automatically removed after 10 minutes.

6. Do we share data with third parties?

We do not share data with third parties, except:

• Google (YouTube API): for searching and playing videos. Google processes search requests according to its own privacy policy.
• RevenueCat: for subscription management. Receives an anonymous ID and purchase status. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
• Supabase: our hosting partner for anonymous synchronisation. Supabase maintains strict security standards for data storage.
• Apple: for payments and app distribution.

We never sell data to third parties.

7. Security

All communication with our server goes via HTTPS. Synchronised data contains no personal information and is linked to an anonymous ID.

8. Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you have the following rights regarding your data:

• Right to access your data.
• Right to correction or deletion.
• Right to object to processing.
• Right to data portability.

Because we don't store personal data, in most cases there is nothing to provide or delete. Contact us at christiaanhenny@gmail.com if you wish to submit a request.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent privacy authority in your country.

9. Cookies

The app does not use cookies. The website (playonevideo.com) is a static page without tracking cookies or analytics.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. For material changes, we will notify you via an App Store update. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
